Hildegard Ceelen

Hildegard Heit Ceelen, 90, of Greensboro, passed away Thursday morning, November 6, 2025, at Beacon Place of AuthoraCare in Greensboro.

She was born in Poland, May 4, 1935, to the late Wilhelm and Amalie Heit. She survived the brutality and poverty of World War Two, took a boat from Germany to Canada in 1953 to start a new life. She married Theodorus Ceelen in 1956, and together they had two sons, Peter in 1958 and George in 1960. 

The Ceelen family lived in Canada, New York, California, back to Central New York, and finally in North Carolina. Hildegard was a wonderful wife, and a fantastic mother, grandmother (Oma), and great grandmother. Four grandchildren and four great grandchildren (plus another due any day).

 She is survived by her husband Theodorus; sons, Peter and his wife Michelle, George and his wife Stacey; grandchildren Eileen, Christopher, Emily and Anna; great grandchildren Madilyn, Caroline, James and Abigail.
