Glenn Welborn Mabe, 78, of Carrick St., passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at High Point Regional Hospital.

Born March 4, 1938 in Galax, VA, a son of the late Garfield W. Mabe and the late Emma Brown Mabe. Mr. Mabe was a US Army veteran and a self-employed carpenter. He was a huge Tar Heel Basketball fan and enjoyed the beach and watching sports.

Mr. Mabe is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Kathleen Dilley Mabe of the home; daughters, Glenda Mabe and Teresa Swartz and husband Richard all of High Point; brothers, Roger Mabe and wife Dorothy of High Point and Toby Mabe and wife Beverly of Sophia; sisters, Opal Hall of Raleigh, Nita Bruner of Claremont and Nancy King of Raleigh; grandchildren, Marie Petroff and husband Jeff, Adam Swartz, Courtney Swartz and Nicole Swartz; great-grandchildren, Courtney and Shea Petroff.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2016 in Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Greene officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
