Sybil Geraldine Childress Joyce, 80, of High Point, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born March 7, 1939, in Charlottesville, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Carey Clinton Childress and the late Fannie Hopkins Childress. Mrs. Joyce was a retired furniture finisher and a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Billy Ray Joyce of the home, children, Charlotte Carroll, Debbie Powers and husband Keith, Fred Perdue, Tony Perdue and wife Shelby, and Terry Perdue and wife Charity; brother, Jimmy Childress; sisters, Peggy Long and husband Bobby, Linda Brady and husband Toby, Colleen Alford and husband Jerry, and Thelma Holdren; grandchildren, Jonathan Perdue, Wendy Hale, Chad Carroll, Ralph Evans, Jr., Jennifer Powers, Brian Powers, Dusty Powers, Christina Powers, Curtis Perdue, and Tiffany Cutshaw; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Martha Raye Sneed, Delores Bowman, and W.C. Childress.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Landmark Baptist Church with Rev. Amos Mashburn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Friday, June 21, 2019, at Wright Funerals-Cremations.
