Gary William Mertler

Gary William Mertler, 73, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, at High Point Medical Center.

Born February 8, 1947, in Mansfield, Ohio, he was a son of the late John Mertler and the late Elizabeth Streitmater Mertler, who passed during his birth.  Gary was loved and raised by his father John and the late Susanna Mertler.  Gary was the owner of Drawn Metals Corporation, an auto and appliance parts manufacturing company.

He is survived by his wife, Lorin Pease Mertler; daughter, Andrea Mieding (Jason), Jamestown; son, Gregory Mertler (Angela) of Beavercreek, Ohio; brother, John Mertler of Mansfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Isaac Mieding, Gabriel Mieding, and Joshua Mertler and multiple nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

Gary was a man of conviction and love; teaching his friends and family how to be strong while also compassionate.  Gary always provided great comfort to those around him and he was generous with his time and resources.  He loved and was loved by everyone he met.  Gary accomplished much, but he was most proud of his children.

A private family service will be held.
