Gary Gordon Andrews

Gary Gordon Andrews, 70, of Thomasville, (formally, Williston, VT) passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Gary was born on June 24, 1954, in Hanover, New Hampshire, was a son to the late Gordon E. Andrews and late Rita Gauthier Andrews.

Gary worked as a lineman for Green Mountain Power in Vermont for over 40 years. He was dedicated and passionate about his work; a trait he inherited from his beloved father. Aside from loving all the challenges that came with the job he loved it the most because of the friendships and bonds that were created with his fellow lineman.

Gary retired from linework and followed his dream to live in NC near his daughter/son in law and grandsons. He spent most of his days “puttering” in the yard, cutting down trees with his son, running his bobcat, feeding the deer, working on his Harley and fixing anything and everything that was broken. Gary had a trick to fix anything or make something new again. When his long days in the yard were done, he would enjoy time in the pool with his grandsons, taking a ride in his favorite truck and watching old TV shows with his wife.

Gary loved and married his high school sweetheart, Claudia Blair Andrews. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Pat Andrews of Thomasville; daughter, Kelly Allen (Buddy) of Thomasville; sister Cindy Coffin of Thomasville; brother Bruce Andrews of Vermont; Judith Bowen of New Mexico; grandsons, Brayden Allen, Mason Allen, and Madden Allen; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Doug Andrews.

A Celebration of life will be held in Gary’s favorite place, his home. This will be floating from 2-5pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025.  250 Joshua Tree Lane Thomasville, NC 27360
