Garland Eugene Fields, 70, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Hinkle Hospice House.

Born February 25, 1947, in Siler City, he was a son of the late Johnny Fields and the late Ruby Andrews Fields. Mr. Fields was a retired HVAC technician. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and was a natural at shooting pool.

Mr. Fields is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Brenda Coltrane Fields of the home; son, Rodney Fields of Lexington; daughter, Jamie Prevost (Derrick) of Rockwell; sister, Dorothy Whitmire (Roy) of Lexington; grandchildren, Brandon, Cameron, Brett and Kayla; and great-grandchildren, Carson and Gracen.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Dylan Horne and brother, Jerry Fields.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 2, 2017, at New Life Baptist Church, 1100 East Fairfield Rd., High Point with Rev. Mike Mabe officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service.
