Frank Edward White, 55, of High Point, passed away July 4, 2025, at his home after a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Margaret Perry and the late Francis White; Frank spent his earliest years in Queens, NY, before moving to Esperance, NY. Pursuing a degree in English at Siena College in Loudonville, NY; Frank met the love of his life, Susan Donahue White, while they were both students.
After deciding to move to Atlanta, GA in 1991, Frank fell into his lifelong career in the convenience store industry. A novice night clerk in his first role, Frank continued to rise in the ranks of the profession, mastering expectations of performance support, merchandising, and store operations. As a culture champion, he mentored many of his younger colleagues to help them to excel in their own careers.
Frank’s attributes of fortitude, compassion, loyalty, and tenacity enabled him to sympathize with and help those less fortunate. From spearheading cancer fundraisers that saw him take part in 5k runs and polar plunges to donning mascot costumes to highlight a brand, Frank was always willing to use his bonhomie and humor to champion a cause.
His career brought him and his family to many states and cities across the nation over the years where he created a warm and hospitable environment, got his family to thrive. His infectious outlook on life and his gregarious personality won him many, many friends in every place he lived. As a barbecue master, football pool commissioner and karaoke king, Frank’s joie de vivre and generous hospitality made any gathering a true celebration. It is no surprise then that he chose a day to leave us, July 4th, guaranteeing years of continued celebration and remembrance of a life well lived.
Frank had many passions, among them a die hard love for the NY Giants and Mets. A true optimist, Frank was ever hopeful for a winning season. Everyone who knew him also was aware of his love of grilling, his encyclopedia knowledge of music, and his unflagging commitment to spending quality time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, his brother William Youngfert (Carol), his sister Diane Johnson (Mike), his beloved mother-in-law Nancy Donahue; Frank is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Susan; his son, Ian White of Colorado; and his twin daughters, Maria White and Kathleen White of Chicago who were his legacy and of whom he was ferociously proud; his brother, Brad White of Chicago; his Uncle Tom White of New York; his niece, Melissa Bissman (Mike) and nephews, Michael Johnson (Jessica), and Mark Johnson (Diane) all of New York; and his lifelong friend, Ray Feeler (Nancy Jo) of Arizona.
He will be sorely missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brother-in-laws. Also grieving his loss are his friends and colleagues too numerous to count and who have been an amazing network of support and love.
Per Frank’s wishes, a Memorial Celebration will be held at a later date.
Until we meet again, Slainte, Frank!
