Florence Margaret Brown

Florence Margaret Brown, 85, of Archdale, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Hospice Home of High Point, in High Point, NC.

Florence was born on August 17, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida Brown. Florence grew up in Baltimore and remained a staunch Orioles fan until the end. Florence resided in Cary, NC for the last 20 years but most recently moved to Archdale, NC.

Florence was first in her immediate family to attend university. She moved across the country to attend Brigham Young University and her life-long love of learning continued throughout her life and was passed on to her daughter, granddaughter and now great-granddaughters. One of Florence’s greatest pleasures was reading the newspaper cover to cover each day and she loved to discuss current affairs, politics and how her beloved Orioles, NC State Wolfpack, and UNC Tarheels were faring.

In 2020, Florence participated in a program pairing pen pals with seniors isolated by COVID and gained a number of new friends that she corresponded with until her death. Florence deeply treasured these new friendships and the additional dimensions they added to her life.

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary, Rose and Betty.

Florence loved her family and friends fiercely and kept them foremost in her thoughts and prayers. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Tiffany Weir and husband Dave; granddaughter, Sylvia Lee and husband, Clint; great granddaughters, Genevieve and Bernadette; loving nieces, Nancy Westfall and Lisa Conklin; nephew, Paul Davidson; great nephews, David Westfall, Alex Westfall and Nathan Conklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor’s local Salvation Army or the charity of the donor’s choice.
