Listen to Obituary

Ethel Lucille Carter died quietly, among family, on September 09, 2026. She was 93.

Ethel was born in Davidson County, on March 30, 1933, the daughter of Amy Elizabeth Trogdon Reavis and Rual Claude Reavis.

During her lifetime, Ethel was employed by Mann Drug and Ruff Hewn.  Ethel was a vivacious, magnetic personality- a light to all she met. She loved fiercely and was devoted to her extensive family, including granddog, Nellie June. Ethel loved music and to dance. Today, she is surely dancing and smiling in Heaven.

Ethel is survived by her younger sister, Pansy Reavis Hayworth of Thomasville. Pansy was Ethel's abiding, loving companion in the later years of her life; her devotion to Ethel was remarkable to witness.

Ethel is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Donella, sisters Ruby Dowell, Myrtle Blackburn, Mabel Wyatt, Elsie Siske, Ruth Kimble and brothers Odis Reavis, Fred Reavis, Floyd Reavis and Hubert Reavis, Richard Reavis.

In keeping with Ethel's wishes, no memorial service is planned.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont.

Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point is in charge of arrangements.
