Elsie McDowell Keaton

Elsie Marie McDowell Keaton, 82, of High Point, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Abbotts Creek Center in Lexington.

Born November 10, 1943, in Sophia, she was a daughter of the late Clinton McDowell and the late Iona Harvell.

Elsie loved the Lord and her family. She retired from Hanes Brands with perfect attendance as a Quality Control Manager. Elsie loved to play the piano by ear, especially old gospel music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lindsey Riddle, and brother, Carl McDowell.

Left to cherish her memory; her daughter, Sherry Jarrell and husband Craig; grandson, Joshua Riddle; great grandchildren, Aidyn Brown, and Jessa Brown; sisters, Jean Davis and husband Jimmy, and Linda Montsinger; brothers, Randy McDowell and wife Tammy, and Billy McDowell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 2:00PM Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in the High Point chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations; 1720 Westchester Drive, High Point.

Entombment will follow in the Floral Garden memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends 1:00-1:45PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
