Elizabeth Grace Childs Farmer, 74, of Thomasville, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Thomasville Medical Center.

Born February 22, 1951, in Kingsport, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Jack Dempsy Childs and the late Frankie Maude Grisby Childs. Elizabeth worked in the furniture industry for several years before going back to school and gaining employment in childcare. She retired from the Wesleyan Education Center in 2014 and was a member of Colonial Baptist Church in Trinity. Following retirement, she took on the role of spoiling her grandchildren. Her biggest joy was being called Nana.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Anita Farmer White and husband Aaron: sister, Gail Sosa; brother, Greg Childs; grandchildren, Rachel White and fiancé Austyn Barton, and Noah White and girlfriend McKinley Altice; nieces and nephews, Brandy Walden, Fonda Gonzales-Perez, Greg Greer, Ashley Martin, and Keora Childs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Nelson Farmer; son, Eric Nelson Farmer; and sister, Brenda Walden.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Colonial Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Baptist Church.
