Edward Arthur Doherty

Edward Arthur Doherty, 90, of High Point, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020, at his home.

Born September 28, 1930, in Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late Arthur Doherty and the late Irene Dennison Doherty.  Ed served in the United States Army and was an accountant.

He is survived by his wife Janice Doherty of the home; sons, William (Bill) Doherty and Kevin Doherty (Lisa); stepsons, James Ryan Lyda (De Ann) and Damon Lyda (Eva); daughter, Irene Doherty-Carbone (Steve), brothers, Robert (Bob) Doherty (Betty), and Jim Doherty; grandchildren, Stephen Carbone, Sean Doherty, Kevin Doherty, Carter Lyda and Alicia Lyda, and  Vega Lyda.

Ed loved running, golf (most days), dancing, music, football, and of course his family.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cornerstone Fund Samaritan Ministries, Winston-Salem NC (www.samaritanforsyth.org) or St Jude Children's Hospital.
