Earl "BJ" Jochim

Earl William “BJ” Jochim, Jr., 79, of Kernersville, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Hospice Home of High Point.

Born July 18, 1946, om Louisville, KY; he was the son of the late Earl William Jochim, Sr., and the late Ada Young Jochim.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Polly.

BJ served faithfully in the United States Army as a helicopter pilot. Upon completion of his master’s degree studies, he was a hospital administrator at Humana Hospital in Greensboro and then the worked for Carolina Donor Services in Winston Salem until he retired.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Burkeen Jochim of the home; sons, Brian Jochim and wife Margaret of Louisville, KY, and Bart Jochim and wife Erin of Greensboro; daughter, Brett Jochim Schmidt and husband Fred of Fuquay Varina; and his grandchildren, Alex Schmidt, Frederick Schmidt, Nora Jochim, and Madeline Jochim.

Service will be scheduled for a later date in Kentucky.
