Dow Hamblin, Jr.

Edward “Dow” Hamblin, Jr., 78, of River Landing, Colfax, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2023, at Wesley Long Hospital.

Born June 27, 1944, in Ft Worth, Texas, he was a son of the late Edward Dow Hamblin, Sr. and the late Vallie Beck Hamblin. Dow was a retired art teacher having served twenty years in Houma, Louisiana, and nineteen years at Weaver Academy in Greensboro. He was a member of Deep River Church of Christ.

Dow is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Peggy Womble Hamblin of the home, and many close and special friends from River Landing, Deep River Church, and Weaver Academy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Michael Hamblin; and sister, Jacqueline Nolen.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 8, 2023, in the High Point Chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Minister David Galloway officiating.

Peggy will receive friends following the service.
