Douglas (Doug) Campbell

Douglas Ray Campbell of Archdale, NC went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2021. Doug passed peacefully at his home.

Doug was born in High Point, NC on July 19, 1942. He was the son of the late Jessie and Alma Clark Campbell.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, J.M., Charles, & Frank Campbell, and sister Helen Barrier.

On June 14, 1974 he was married to Carol Meredith Campbell. Doug was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Doug was of Baptist faith. He loved serving and helping others. He served as a deacon at Trindale Baptist Church and worked with the Baptist Men’s disaster relief program for several years. Doug was an Army Veteran and enjoyed talking about his tour of duty which was served in Ethiopia. Doug was an insurance salesman for Western-Southern Life Insurance company. His health forced him to retire after he suffered a stroke at the age of 50. Doug enjoyed woodworking, working in his garden, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the Piedmont Handgun Association and enjoyed going to the gun range with his best friend Gerald Robertson to target shoot. Doug was also a member of the Randolph County Honor Guard until his health prevented him from serving.

Doug is survived by his wife Carol, of the home. Sons: Douglas Campbell (Kim) of Zebulon, Richard Beasley (Karie) of Casper, Wyoming, Jeffrey Beasley (Wanda) of Archdale, NC, and Daughter Beverly Cable (Tony) of Randleman, NC. Doug had 10 grandchildren Dylan, Brannden & Chloe Campbell, Eric & Brian Canter, Kailey Cable, Megan Folds, Keith Beasley, Ann Millikan, and Zan Dean. Great Grandchildren Brady & Colt Campbell, Ava, Nate, &Grayson Folds, Jackson Beasley, Kasya Canter, Grayson, Liam & Elaina Millikan. He also leaves behind his adopted daughter Gabriella and her children Amanda, Wesley, Jesse, and Zachary.

A Visitation with the family and a celebration of Dougs life will be held at Trindale Baptist Church, 10407 Archdale Rd, Trinity NC, on Sunday June 27, 2021. Visitation will be from 2pm-3pm, with the service to follow at 3pm. Rev. Tony Moore & Rev. Ronnie Bean will be officiating. Randolph County Honor Guard will present Military Honors.

The family would like to thank all those who helped during Doug’s illness. Also, the family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Jobe and his staff, Dr. Judith Hopkins and her staff, and Hospice of Randolph for all the Compassionate care they gave Doug.
