Dorothy Vestal Brooks, 93, of Archdale, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at her home.

Born August 14, 1925, in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Vestal and the late Nellie Whitehart Vestal. Mrs. Brooks was a graduate of Trinity High School, a retired rural route postal carrier, and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  On February 16, 1952, she married the love of her life, Jack Brooks.  They were married sixty-one years until his death October 25, 2013.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Vestal, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Lindy Brooks and wife Betsy of Archdale; daughters, Sharon Andrews and husband Mike of Archdale, and Gail Nooe and husband Ron of Trinity; brother, James Vestal and wife Pat of Thomasville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, to whom she was a great mom and best friend.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, September 14, 2018, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Morris Little officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the service.

The family would like to express how blessed they were to have Iris Bolton, who took care of mom and loved her as family, and Hospice of Randolph County for their dedication during this difficult time.
