Doris T. Blue

Doris Thomas Blue, 105 ½, of Colfax, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, at her home in River Landing at Sandy Ridge.

Born February 7, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Emmett Thomas and the late Izola Silvers Thomas.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Thomas Blue, Jr.; son, Robert G. Blue; and her sister, Lorene T. Frazier.

Doris grew up in South Bend, Indiana. She worked for Bendix Corp. and was an active Sigma Alpha sorority member. Doris met her husband, Tom, while he was attending Midshipman’s School at Notre Dame. She later worked for Tomlinson Furniture and Alderman’s Studio in High Point. Doris was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of High Point.

She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, oil painting, hiking in the NC mountains, and family vacations.

Left to cherish her memory; son, Bill Blue and wife Becky; daughter, Trisha Blue, and husband Don Medina; grandchildren, Todd Blue (Monica), Ridgely Samuel (David), Tom Blue (Brittany), Elliot Blue (Lauren), and Graham Blue (Meredith); great grandchildren, Victoria Blanco-Pineda, Matteo Blue-Pineda, Claire Samuel, Mary Rives, Samuel, Kennedy Blue, Dixie Rose Blue, and Fischer Jack Blue.

Memorial service will be 3:00 PM August 24, 2025, in the Healthcare Multipurpose Room at River Landing at Sandy Ridge.

Inurnment will be in the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church; 918 N. Main St., High Point, NC 27262; or the charity of your choice.
