Doris Rae Albright

Doris “Peanut” Rae Albright, 66, of High Point, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital.

Born September 6, 1959, in Frankfurt, Germany, to the late Woodrow Albright and the late Doris Smith Albright. She graduated from Ragsdale High School and then was a long time employee of K-Mart and later UPS. Doris was a caring, loving and sweet woman. She was a cat lady who loved her cats. She liked to collect stuffed skunks and loved to listen to the music of her favorite band, Alabama. Doris would do anything for you, loved to travel and see new places and the beach. She loved grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by her son, John Albright and wife Terri; daughter, Carol Lookabill and husband Larry; sister, Tony Wright of Thomasville; niece, Julia Mayes; grandchildren, April Nuckolls, and Zack Lookabill (Anna); 3 great grandchildren; and special extended family, Michael Duffy (Holly), Rick (Michelle), Terry, Theresa Owens, and Lance Nuckolls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Albright, and life time long partner, John Hazelwood.

A celebration of life service will be at a later date.
