Donald Keith Symonds

Donald Keith Symonds “Duck”, 57, of Thomasville, NC, went to be with Jesus on June 4, 2025.

Donald was born on November 2, 1967, to Maurice Symonds and Shirley (Cox) of

Woodhull, NY. After graduating from Addison High School in 1985, he went into the

Marines where he served for 3 years. Following his return home, he was a over the

road truck driver for many years.

From a very young age Donald loved to sing. Through the years he learned and loved

to play a variety of different instruments. Music was always a passion of his and that

carried into many of his relationships he made throughout the years.

Anyone who knew “Duck” knew that he was a big personality with a sharp mind and an

even sharper tongue. He was quick witted and was always ready with a clever remark

that kept everyone on their toes. He had friends in many places and enjoyed hunting,

fishing, going to the race track, karaoke nights, and spending quality time with friends

and family.

Donald was preceded in death by his father Maurice Symonds and his brother Jim

Symonds. He is survived by his mother Shirley “Cox” Symonds of Woodhull, NY,

Fiancee Christine Maupin of Thomasville, NC, Son, Cody Symonds, Two daughters,

Jessica “Chris” Holley and Mackenzie “Brandon” Fergerson, and 6 children in

love/step-children. “Duck” had 7 grandchildren and Baby Fergerson due in November.

Donald is also survived by seven siblings, Karen Tillinghast, Mark Symonds, Steve

Symonds, David Symonds, Karla “Roger” Waters, Sabrina “Allen” Matthews, Kenneth

Symonds, and many nieces and nephews. His memory will be a guiding light, reminding

us to live fully, love deeply, and embrace life with the same zest he did.
