Donald Allen Dowdy

Donald Allen Dowdy, 88, of High Point, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, at his home.

Born November 24, 1933, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late Earl Dowdy and the late Edna Beal Dowdy.  Donald worked as a cloth cutter/peddler in the furniture industry.  He served in the United States Army and Navy, was a member of the VFW and American Legion.  Donald was a humble man, caring, sweet, gentle, and loved watching tv.

He is survived by his son, Ronald Dowdy of Florida; daughter, Donna Young (Ronny) of Archdale; sister, Colleen Ferrell of High Point; numerous grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann and a brother, Bill Dowdy.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, August 12, 2022, at Guilford Memorial Park with Cody Williams officiating.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point.
