Diane Lee (Butler) Grinder

Diane Lee Grinder, 77, of Thomasville, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Asheboro, North Carolina.

Diane Grinder, also known by her loved ones as “Nana,” was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1943. Nana loved being around people, which is why she spent a majority of her time as a waitress. She was a selfless, loving, caring woman who loved all things and people. She had three children: Kathy, Donald, and Tammy. She was a woman with many titles: mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Nana’s favorite hobbies were crafts and Pac-Man but her favorite past time was spent watching Charmed, her favorite show. Nana was diagnosed with Dementia in 2014 and had been fighting the long battle ever since. Her family and friends cherished spending time with her and her silly personality. Nana was loved by all and truly will be missed.

Diane is preceded in death by her son, Donald Vassar; daughter, Kathy Wright; parents Robert Butler and Shirley O’Dell; brother, Michael Butler; sister Joyce Grinder; and grandson Robert Wright.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Tammy Wolfe; sister, Pat White and husband, Larry; and grandchildren, Haley Niblock and husband Marc, Katelyn Wolfe and fiancé Ethan Cox.

A memorial service will be planned at a later time.
