Dewey Thomas Phillips, Sr., 81, of Archdale, North Carolina passed away on July 9th in High Point, North Carolina.
Dewey was born in St. Paul, Virginia to James and Lilly Bell Phillips on January 17, 1938. He worked many years in the coal mines and then as a furniture builder. Dewey was a fun-loving, funny guy who never met a stranger and loved everyone he met. He loved his music. His family remembers how he got a kick out of flirting with the ladies. Dewey especially loved his only granddaughter Casey, his “KK”. He will be remembered for his loving personality by his family and those that loved him dearly.
Dewey is preceded in death by parents James and Lilly Bell Phillips; daughter, Janice Faye Ramirez; brothers, Harold, James, Roger and Norman Phillips.
Dewey is survived by his life partner and loving companion, Bettie Corea of Archdale; son, Dewey Thomas Phillips, Jr of Archdale; daughters, Linda Lopez and husband Victor of Archdale, Carol Hernandez and husband Antonio of High Point; sister Janice O’Neal and husband Kirby; granddaughter Casey; grandsons, Chris, Danny Lee, Max and Oenta; and many great grandchildren.
