Denzil “Denny” Wade Wright, 64, of Denton, NC went to his eternal Home with Jehovah-God on October 21, 2026.
Born October 4, 1962, in Louisville, KY, he was the son of Ruth Wright, and the late Maynard Wright.
Denny graduated from Eastern Randolph High School and continued his education at Penland School of Crafts and Davidson County Community College. He was hands on and could do anything he set his mind to do. He was incredibly smart and inventive, always very hard-working and determined. He spent the early part of his career as a Tool & Die Engineer, later opening a floor & tile business. After obtaining his contractor’s license, he moved into General Construction & Property Development/Excavation and building docks before retiring.
He loved God and was a man of deep faith and devotion. His relationship with Christ was the foundation of everything he did, with his deepest desire and prayer each day to ‘make God smile’. He would say that being a Christian was the greatest ‘adventure’ of his life and he wanted to show others how wonderful and awesome the Christian adventure could be! He lived that out by the way he treated others and showed them they were loved and valued, Loving God with all of his heart and his neighbor as himself. He was a member of Denton Wesleyan Church where he used his gifts and talents to serve. He was involved in the Piedmont Emmaus Community, and he was an advocate for Life. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed fishing, growing trees and plants, making pottery and other beautiful things out of the natural resources provided by his Creator. He loved music and praising God and learned to play God’s Trumpet- the Shofar, which he got on a trip to Israel with his dear friend, Dr. Karl Coke.
Left to cherish his memory; his wife, Kim Wright; sons- Zachary “Zack” Wright, Benjamin “Ben” Wright, twin grandsons Legend Wright and Elijah Wright; mother, Ruth Wright; sister, Renea Baldwin (Eddie); special mother-in-law, Carolyn “Mama C” Edwards; brother’s-in-law, Kevin Hicks (Pam), Kurt Hicks (Lauren) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces, and nephews.
As much as Denny will be missed in this life, we take great comfort and peace in KNOWING GOD’s promises are faithful and true, and they apply to Denny because of the way he lived them out. These Bible verses are:
Representing His belief in God and His WORD:
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is God-Breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”
Passing from this Life to Eternal Life:
Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants”
2 Timothy 4:6-8 “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
Hebrews 11: 16 “They were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.”
Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
Encouragement and Hope for Loved Ones:
1 Thessalonians 4:13, 17 “Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him…. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage one another with these words.”
We are confident that Denny was met with this welcome by our LORD from Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
