Listen to Obituary

Delores Knowles Strother, age 84, passed away peacefully Friday, October 30, 2026, at the Hinkle Hospice Home of Davidson County.

Born on May 9, 1942, in Apex, she was a daughter to the late James Odell Knowles, and the late Mae Lee Cash Knowles.

She was united in marriage to Aubrey Strother, who preceded her in death. In addition, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Knowles Gobble.

Delores lived a life filled with love, laughter, faith, and devotion to those she held dear.

She was a loving, funny, and sassy woman whose personality could light up a room. She had a special way of making people laugh and leaving lasting memories with those fortunate enough to know her. She was devoted to her family and had a deep love for her pets, especially her beloved dogs.

In her spare time, Delores enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and reading. She also treasured the simple joys of playing with her dogs and spending time doing the things she loved. Her hands were often busy creating something beautiful, while her heart was always filled with love for her family.

Her faith in God was an important part of her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, laughter, and cherished memories.

Delores leaves to cherish her precious memories; her daughter, Dawn Charlton, along with other family members and loved ones whose lives she touched.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love will remain forever.

Rest peacefully, Delores. You will be loved and missed always.
