David Marshall Hayes, 65, of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born July 16, 1952, in Mt. Airy, he was a son of the late Foxie Marshall Hayes and the late Helen Seal Hayes. Mr. Hayes was an educator in the Surry County Schools System for over thirty-years.

He is survived by his son, David Hayes and wife Lisa of Trinity, daughter, Molly Welch and husband David of Archdale; sister, Phyllis Hayes of NJ; grandchildren, Cooper Hayes and Maddox Hayes.

Memorial services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Trinity Memorial United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the service.
