Daniel Franklin Collins, 66, of Thomasville, North Carolina passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Friday, May 17, 2019.
Daniel was born in Suwannee County, Florida to Jessie Cleveland Collins and Elsie Osteen Collins on October 27, 1952. He was a graduate of Central High School. He was married to Faye Johnson and was a resident of Thomasville for over twenty years. Daniel was a devoted Christian and was a member of God’s Revival Ministry and Worship Center. Daniel had a passion for cooking that was an inspiration to his family who enjoyed feasting on the delicious meals he created in the kitchen. He was an avid Florida Gator Football fan and was very proud of his Gator room, that was wall to wall Florida Gators and Miami Dolphins. Dan is described as an all-around great guy that could make anyone laugh. Everyone that met him, loved him because he was so loving and caring. Of course, anyone that knew him well, knew he was very competitive and loved to change the rules in his favor. Above all, he loved his family and especially adored his grandchildren, who absolutely adored him in return.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Elsie Collins as well as two brothers, JC Collins and Mickey Collins.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Faye Collins; sons, Derrick Collins of Kernersville, Curtis Collins and wife Brandy of Kernersville; daughter Krystle Oblisk and husband Shaun of Adel, Georgia; stepson, Dr. James Jacobs and wife Mary of Johnson City, TN; stepdaughter Candy Pierce and husband Steven of Welcome; brothers Jim Collins and wife Janice of Florida, Gary Collins wife Barbara of Florida, Douglas (Dink) Collins and Gertie, sister, Linda Thompson and husband Sam of Thomasville; grandchildren, Cole and Damon Collins, Zoe and Carson Collins, Shauna, Krystin and William Oblisk, Benjamin and Abigail Jacobs, Olivia and Nathanial Pierce; great-granddaughter, Alona Oblisk.
A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, May 26th at 2 o’clock in that afternoon at God’s Revival Ministry and Worship Center, located at 111 Sedgehill Drive, Thomasville, North Carolina. Pastors Phillip Ray Johnson and Adam Ray Johnson of God’s Revival Ministry will be officiating.
