Daniel Martin Bouchey

Daniel Martin Bouchey, 83, passed away Monday, November 4, 2024, at his home in Winston-Salem, NC.

Born March 22, 1941, in Troy, New York, Dan graduated from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY, in 1971. After moving to North Carolina in 1975, he was instrumental in founding the Girls Athletic Association in High Point and, later, in organizing neighborhood food drives to support Clemmons Food Pantry. He was a founding member and volunteer treasurer of Basset Rescue Crew of the Southeast. He was also an avid golfer.

He is survived by daughters, Lisa Bouchey of Thomasville; and Kimberley Bouchey of Little Mountain, South Carolina; and “adopted” daughters Lisa Straughn of Thomasville and Dawn Bloodworth of Little Mountain. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, John G. Bouchey and Rose Cavanagh; Danna, his wife of fifty six years; his brothers Joseph (Jayne), James (Katherine) and Robert (Rose), half-brother John E. Bouche, and his beloved basset hound Boyd.

A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. Dan will be inurned in the columbarium at Salisbury National Cemetery.

The family suggests making memorial contributions at ClemmonsFoodPantry.org in lieu of flowers.
