Courtney David Reid

Courtney David Reid departed this life on November 27, 2025, at his residence in High Point, NC. He was born, Easter Sunday April 11, 1982, at 4:13 AM, in Washington, DC to David W. Shorter and Kimberly Reid Saulter.

Courtney was loved by many; vibrant and very outgoing. Never met a stranger and befriended everyone that crossed his path. He was a caring and protective son, brother, and uncle. He loved his immediate family and his adopted family; would do anything to help in any way he could; just call him and he was there. I called him on May 24, 2024, to inform him his stepdad had passed. He came home to be our rock and decided to stay to be near his mom. He had a heart that loved without restrictions.

Courtney was a devoted member at the Greater Power and Praise Tabernacle in High Point, NC, under the pastoring and teaching of the late Pastor Barbara Battles, and Bishop Hezekiah Walker. His church family meant a lot to him and because of his size and strength, Pastor Battles called on him to help with any church project they needed him to tackle; he was more than happy to assist.

Preceding his death was his sister (Alexandra Reid), grandfather (John Reid), uncle (Russell Reid), cousin (Rodney Frederick), grandmother (Ethel Reid), his father (David Shorter) and his stepfather (Jeffrey Saulter).

He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life, mother Kim Saulter, sister Melani Reid, nephews Javonte and Jaxon Reid, siblings of his father, uncle Cleveland Reid (Janice), aunts, Mary Alice Browne (Calvin), Johnnie Mae Frederick (Leroy), Belinda Jefferies (Alton), Angela Reid, Dessie Reid-Teasley, April Manley, Sheila Colbert (Victor), and many loving relatives and friends. A special friendship with Angelina Coleman; whom Courtney called Godmommy and her family.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2025, in the High Point Chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations, with Dr. Jeremiah Hackley officiating.

The family will visit with friends following the service.
