Cheryl Kurek Murphy, 55, of High Point, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019, at her home.

Born July 11, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, she was a daughter of Barbara Novak Franz (Ralph) of Chicago, Illinois and the late Ronald Kurek. Cheryl was the head cashier for Portillo’s Restaurant for ten years.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of thirty-one years, Warren Murphy of the home; son, Bradley Murphy of the home; daughter, Jennifer Schaefer of Chicago; brother, Tom Franz of Reno, Nevada; sisters, Debbie Stich (Bill), of Chicago, and Jody Hefner (Gary) of Chicago; grandchildren, Kenny, Haley, Kaitlyn, Sophia, and Lela.

Memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2019, in the gathering room of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Rev. C.W. Moss officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC, 27262.
