Carl Donald Morgan

Carl D. Morgan, born January 14, 1935, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, at the Hospice of Davidson County after a brief illness.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters, and his beloved wives Charlotte and Dolly. He is survived by his loving wife of fifteen years, Gaye Taylor Morgan. Carl is also survived by three brothers and their spouses or partners, two sisters and one brother-in-law, and his son, Chip Morgan and wife Evelyn of California. He leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Rachel Morgan and her husband, Xander, Hank Morgan, and Kate Morgan. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by many stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

After retiring from a long career with 3M, Carl found a new passion in building homes alongside his nephew. He was a devoted member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church in Nanahala and, more recently, South Gate Baptist Church in Thomasville.

Carl had an amazing quick wit sense of humor that was a great pleasure to his wife and entire family.

Carl’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, hard work, and love for his family will never be forgotten. A celebration of his life will be arranged at a later date.

Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point is in charge of arrangements.
