Carl Junius Gibson, born October 15, 1930, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at home surrounded by loving family.
He was an honored Bronze Star Veteran of the Korean War, and a devout family man who was married to the love of his life, Mildred Bean Gibson for 72 years. After 37 years of dedicated service, he retired from Centel Telephone in Asheboro, NC in 1991. He was a member of Gate City Baptist Church and his life was a testament to his deep faith, honor, and ethics.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father and grandson Jonathan Voncannon.
He is survived by sons, Steve (Mary) Gibson of Knoxville, TN, Mike (Pam) Gibson of High Point, NC, Mark (Gina) Gibson of Greensboro, and daughters Renee (Eddie) Voncannon of Asheboro and Lisa (David) McWilliams of Atlanta, GA, fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held in his honor. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.
