Robert (Bug) Brinkley, 85, of Archdale, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his home.

Born September 9, 1931 in Davidson County, he was the son of the late Tice Anthony and the late Belle Haynes Brinkley. He was retired from Flex-O-Lators and was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S Air Corp. Mr. Brinkley was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a member of the Sun Shine Boys musical band where they played at local nursing homes.

Surviving is his wife Fay Bentley Brinkley of the home; two sisters, Marie Queen of Smithfield, NC and Helen Coggin of Thomasville; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, December 26, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Morris Little and Rev. J.C. Alley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
