Buddy Gibson

Walter "Buddy" Gibson died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital with his children by his bedside.

Buddy is survived by his son, Scott Gibson (Tim Edwards) of Raleigh, his daughter, Lauran Bray (Eddie) of Fayetteville, and two grandsons: Alden Bray and Gibson Bray.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Doris "Dottie" Gibson and his daughter, Lynde Gibson.

Buddy was born in Albany, Georgia and married Dottie when they were teenagers. Buddy's career in the furniture business started in Macon, Georgia and then led to a move to Atlanta, Georgia where the family resided for many years.  As the furniture industry changed, Buddy moved his business to High Point, North Carolina.

The children wish to express their thanks to the staff at Moses Cone ICU for their exceptional care of Buddy before his death.

The family is celebrating Buddy's life with a private event at a later date.
