Bonnie Jean Towery

Bonnie Jean Stroud Towery, 84, of Sophia, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at High Point Medical Center.

Born October 24, 1941, in Thomasville, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Stroud and the late Ina Watson Stroud.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Stroud.

Bonnie loved spending time with her family. She had a love for wildlife, animals and nature. She enjoyed watching UNC Tar Heel basketball and NASCAR races. Her sense of humor was well known to many. She graduated from Hasty High School where she was crowned Miss Hasty. She was a wonderful mother, a giving friend and an inspiration to her family.

Those left to cherish her memory; her daughters, Temple Young and husband Benjamin of Avondale Estates, Ga, and Julie Richardson of Sophia; grandchildren, Luke Richardson, Holden Young, and Autumn Richardson; and her sister, Linda Frazier.
