Billie Sue (Young) Blackwell, 86, of High Point, formerly of Greensboro, passed into the arms of her Lord at 8:15PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Born March 4, 1940, in Roanoke, VA; she was a daughter of Henry Eddie Young, and Anna Lois (Abshire) Young.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eddy Lynne Carr.
Billie was a resident of Greensboro since 1963 and raised her two children in the Guilford College community. She worked in various office support roles and attended Guilford College Baptist Church. She took great joy in the warmth of summer and the beauty of the beach and ocean. Her primary love in life was serving her children and grandchildren.
Billie is survived by her son, Bradley Blackwell and wife, Lisa Yako of Huron, OH; daughter, JaLynne Ritter and husband, Don of Kernersville; and her grandchildren, Hannah Blackwell of Chicago, IL, Gretchen Blackwell of Vienna, Austria, Grace Blackwell of Huron, OH, Kyle McMakin and wife Sydney of Mechanicsville, VA, Grant McMakin of West Hartford, CT and Jason Ellington, Jr. of Lynchburg, VA. Billie was also awaiting the July arrival of her first great grandchild with parents, Kyle and Sydney.
Billie persevered through many storms in life to always be Mom and Neema; we miss her!
