Bill Walker

William Calvin “Bill” Walker, Jr., 87, of High Point, passed Monday, March 25, 2025, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born March 24, 1938, in High Point, he was a son of the late W.C. Walker and the late Virgie Slayton Walker. Bill’s career began at Walker’s Esso station on South Main Street. He later founded Walker’s Radio and TV Sales and Service on North Main Street. Subsequently, he transitioned to High Point Regional Hospital, where he worked in the Bio-Med Department until his retirement in 2003. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of several Bass Fishing Clubs. In his later years, he was also a devoted fan of High Point University Men’s Basketball team. He was a lover of dogs too; leaving behind grand dogs, Berkley and Charley. Bill never missed a grandchild’s dance recital, sporting event or family celebration. Family was everything to him.

Bill is survived by his children, Kelley Walker Zittinger of High Point, Lisa Walker Hancock and husband Stephen of High Point, William Calvin Walker, III and wife Andrea of High Point; sister, Dr. Virginia Anne Walker of High Point; grandchildren, Christina Zittinger Morgan and husband Griffin of Concord, Nicole Zittinger Albertson and husband Andrew of Greenville, SC, Meghan Hancock Webb and husband Josh of High Point, Madison Hancock Boles and husband Jonathon of Augusta, GA, Evan William Walker of Reno, NV, and Avery Glen Walker of High Point; great-grandchildren, Peyton Attaway Albertson, William Truman Albertson, Emersyn Wright Webb, Kennedy Hope Webb, and Macen Cash Walker.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

The family wishes to extend their heart felt gratitude to High Point Regional Hospital, Providence Place/Westchester Manor, and Hospice of the Piedmont for the love and care provided to Bill.
