William Joseph “Bill” Tate, 78, of High Point, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Born July 12, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was a son of the late William Woodrow Tate and the late Rosemary Catherine Donahue Ellis. Bill was a proud US Marine veteran and retired from Western Electric with twenty-four years of service.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Roxanna Finney Tate of the home; son, Bradley Tate and wife Ginny of Ohio; daughters, Michelle Beckley and husband Greg of Indiana, and Melissa Osborne and husband Chris of Sophia; brother, Edwin Tate of High Point; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at a later date.
