William Muriel “Bill” Benton

William Muriel “Bill” Benton, 75, of Trinity, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born July 1, 1941 in Horry County, SC, he was a son of the late Willie Benton and the late      Elma Leonard Benton. Mr. Benton was a retired cloth cutter with Swaim Originals and was a member of Colonial Baptist Church. Mr. Benton, along with his wife, were avid ballroom dancers and square dancers. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons and enjoying the lake view from his home.

Mr. Benton is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Doris Cox Benton of the home; daughters, Daphne Kelly of North Myrtle Beach and Paula Flynt and husband James of Lexington; sister, Murlene Bigford of Thomasville; grandsons, Seth Flynt and Derrick Flynt; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Miles and Kayden.

Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Colonial Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jarvis officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
