Betty Price Shelley, 87, of Archdale, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Born May 10, 1930, in Chase City, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Hoyt Hollen Price and the late Sarah Blanche Sechrest Price. Mrs. Shelley was a member of Springfield Friends Meeting, a nursery school teacher, and the manager of Stroud’s Florist.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Shelley and husband Joe Kitchin of Archdale, and Laurie Newsom and husband Stephen of King; grandchildren, Michael Kitchin and wife Rachael, and John Newsom; sister-in-law, Emma Price; nieces, Cynthia Erickson, Linda Howard, and Judy Weaver; and nephew, Bobby Price.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John William Shelley, son, Michael Shelley, and brother, Joe Price, Sr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Springfield Friends Meeting with Rev. Joshua Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church.
