Betty Lou (Draughn) Rice

Betty Lou Draughn Rice, 93, of High Point, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Westchester Manor.

Born October 15, 1930, in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel Elmer Draughn and the late Matra Alline Gurley.  Betty was a homemaker.

She is survived by sons, Aaron (Rocky) Rice (Helen) and Robin Ray Rice both of High Point; grandchildren, Ryan Rice (Kim), Rachael Rice Cusick, and Lauren Rice; and great grandchildren, William Cusick, Thomas Cusick, and Bellamy Rice.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Rice; son, Eric Lee Rice; and brothers, Henry Draughn and Bill Draughn.

Betty was full of personality and spunk. She was a loyal friend to her classmates of High Point High School. She loved her home city of High Point.

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 5, 2024, in the High Point chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Rev. C.W. Moss officiating.  Burial will be private at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

Visitation will follow the service.
