Bernell Spoon Rogers, 98, of Westchester Dr., passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born January 21, 1918 in Randolph County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Phalti Spoon and the late Lucy Caroline Powers Spoon. She was employed with the C.I.A.

She was first married June 6, 1953 to Captain Harry E. Shutz and he preceded her in death September 10, 1971. She later married Colonel William T. Rogers on December 3, 1981 and he preceded her

in death on August 13, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Odell Spoon, Genevieve ("Jimmie") Riley, Charles Spoon and a nephew, Charles Riley.

Surviving are sister, Bernadine ("Dinie") Williard; Stepchildren,  Bill Rogers (Lisa Myers) and Ginger Rogers all of Springfield, Va.; Nieces, Brenda Riley Palmer (Skip) of High Point; Barbara Riley McKinney of High Point; Anne Williard Simmons (Ron) of Southport, NC; Nephews, Robert "Bobby" Williard (Donna) of Weddington, NC; Jerry Williard (Diane) of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.;

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice Home at High Point for the excellent, loving care provided to Bernell.
