Barbara Boyd Williams

Barbara Boyd Williams, 89, of High Point, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born March 14, 1935, in Anderson, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Boyd and the late Martha Caudle Boyd. Barbara was a resident of High Point since 1947, she waws a graduate of Ferndale and High Point High School (Central), attended Women’s College (UNCG), Jones Business School, Davidson Community College and Clemson University. She was a business owner in sales and marketing; advertising and importing directed to the retail furniture trade.

Her painting adventures began in 2001 with a crop of gourds that were intended to be birdhouses for her eight (soon to be nine) grandchildren. After wandering thru a local craft store examining all the multitudes of paints, brushes and finishes to decorate the bird houses, she signed up for a painting class in decorative painting (Donna Dewberry’s 1-stroke) went on to a Bob Ross oil painting class.

She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Smith (Jeremy Edmonds) of High Point and son, James Williams; grandchildren, Robert Williams, April Williams, Justin Williams, Jennifer Williams, Barry Joe Smith, II, Bobbie Jo Smith, Adam Lamb (Jess), and Abbie Lamb (CJ Fredere).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Rochelle Smith, and granddaughter, Brittany Lamb.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10:45 AM Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Lebanon United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph Kim officiating.

The family will receive friends at 10:30 AM at the church.
