Barbara Louise Ray Walker

Barbara Louise Ray Walker, 82, of Greensboro, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born April 3, 1943, in Orange, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Nathaniel Van Ray and the late Lois Clara Scott Ray. Barbara was a homemaker who loved to clean her house and cook for her family. She welcomed everyone in and loved them like her own.

She is survived by a son, Edward Pettiford of Virginia; brother, Van David Ray, of New Jersey; sisters, Lois (Sissy) Ray of Greensboro, and Shawn Craighead of New Jersey; grandchildren, Sabrina Jones of Greensboro, and Alexandra Pettiford of Havelock; and six great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Williams.

Services will be held at a later date in Virginia.
