Barbara Matthews Tanner

Barbara Matthews Tanner, 91, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Florida.

Born October 5, 1933, in Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late Hal Matthews and the late Amy King Matthews. Barbara was a restless spirit on an endless flight.  She was a talented singer and entertainer, as well as a loving mother, daughter, and sister.

She is survived by her daughters, Julia Osborne (Shawn) of Archdale and Laura Gregory (Bruce) of Orange City, FL; son, Clay Tanner (Janneth) of Deltona, FL; stepson, Raymond Tanner (Shari) of St. Augustine; sister, Helen Thomas of Greensboro; grandchildren, Aaron Barnes (Ian), Jarrod Gregory, Alison Aguilar (Jay) and Sarah Tanner; and great grandchild, Lily Gregory.

Graveside service will be 12:00 PM Monday, November 25, 2024, at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends following the service.
