Barbara Jean (Short) Mitchell

Barbara Jean Short Mitchell, 78, of Archdale, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Born May 26, 1946, in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Harold Short and the late Elizabeth Hare Short. She was a florist and attended Faith Baptist Church as her health allowed. Barbara was also a member at Stanley Road Baptist Church for many years and was involved with the children’s ministry.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Mitchell of the home; daughter, Deborah Mitchell-Terrell (James) of Greensboro; sons, Victor Mitchell (Robin) of Archdale and Richard Smith of Asheboro; nephew, Kenny Livengood (Levaughnia); sister, Judy Livengood of Archdale; grandchildren, Ashton Maupin, Ryan Maupin (Maggie), Thomas Stone; and great grandchildren, Darcy Maupin and Lola Maupin.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, 2984 Rob Cruthis Rd, Archdale, NC  27263, with Rev. Steve Smith officiating.
