Barbara Dawkins

Barbara Jean Randall Dawkins passed away at North Pointe of Archdale on March 14, 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Barbara was born to Henry “Darwin” Randall and Minnie Ruth Baxley Randall on August 29, 1941. She was married to William “Bill” L. Dawkins Jr. on July 11, 1964 at Green Street Baptist Church in High Point.

A life-long resident of High Point, she attended High Point High School and High Point College, where she earned her teaching degree. She taught elementary students throughout her long career at Liberty Drive Elementary and surrounding Thomasville schools until her retirement.

Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to spend time on Badin Lake, reading and making jewelry.

She is pre-deceased by her husband Bill and her parents.

Barbara is survived by her sons William L. Dawkins III (Amy) and Christopher Dawkins (Melissa); Grandchildren Mitchell (Micaela Mitchell), Nathan (Julia Hubbard), Justin, Henry and Willow; Great-Granddaughter Burkley.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Barbara at Westchester Baptist Church, High Point, on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. Family will receive guests prior to the service.

Guil-Rand Funeral and Cremation will be handling arrangements for the family. Dr. Eric Peacock will be officiating.
