Avon Tony Pickett

Avon Tony Pickett, 81, of Columbia, SC, passed away on March 18, 2021 at the Life Care Center.

Avon was born in High Point, NC to Lucille Jones and Luke Pickett on July 14, 1939. He worked as a carpenter all his life and could build almost anything with his hands. He was a simple man that loved the outdoors, and good music. He loved watching westerns on tv especially ones with Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. He also loved to eat a good hot dog every chance he could. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Avon is preceded in death by his mother Lucille Jones, his father Luke Pickett, his sisters Dorothy Pickett and Shirley Pickett, and his brother Bobby Pickett.

Avon is survived by his daughters Avonia Wilfoung (Oskars) and Toni Wilfoung, his sister Sandra Pickett, his brother Wislon Pickett, his grandchildren Cyrus, Leevenson, Mary, Ashley, and Aramis, his great grandchildren Zariah, Katherine, Sandra, Savannah, Zymier, Alonso, Ariel, London, and Dennis, his stepdaughter Zona Wilfoung, the family also wanted a special thanks to his nephew Michie Pickett and his caregiver Jerome Green.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Archdale Assembly of God located at 4405 Archdale Road, Archdale, NC 27263. Burial will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park Cemetery, 1550 NC Highway 62 West, High Point, NC.  A visitation will be held 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Archdale Assembly of God.
