Annette Wyome (Thompson) Jackson, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Hospice Home at High Point.
She was born November 11, 1942, in Anderson, South Carolina. At a young age she moved to Washington, D.C. with her mother and two younger sisters. At age 15, she met the love of her life, Sherwood Jackson, Sr., and by 19 they were married. Together, they raised eight children and built a life filled with love, laughter, and faith.
Annette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a faithful servant of Jehovah for 52 years active in the ministry and dedicated to her congregation. She found joy in caring for her home-cooking, gardening, sewing-and loved attending meetings at the Kingdom Hall, teaching others about Jehovah, and spending time with fellow believers.
Annette had a radiant smile, a lively spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed music, dancing with Sherwood, board games, puzzles, drawing, and relaxing with TV shows. Her presence lit up every room.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, Sherwood Jackson, Sr.; sister, Ann Lee Watts; eight children: Sherwood “Robin” Jackson, Jr., Elijah Jackson, Teia Bellamy, Chermaine Fletcher, Veleicka Jackson, Tawana Jackson, SherQuan Jackson, and Antonyo “Tony” Jackson; 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Audrey Powell and Juanita Warfield; brothers-in-law, Warren “Butch” Jackson, III and Maurice Jackson; daughter-in-law, Nicole Jackson; close cousins, Jennifer “Jenny” Jeter, Ronnie, and Darryl Farr; and a hot of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Lucy and Roy Wright; her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Gus Comer; parents-in-law Erlene and Warren Jackson, II; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Bailey; and her cousin Ida Farr.
Annette’s love, strength, and faith leave a lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed.
