Alfred P. Pistocchi

Alfred P Pistocchi , 92, of High Point, NC, left us peacefully on August 31, 2026 at home surrounded by family and friends. 

Al was born on January 12, 1934 in Bronx, NY to Anthony and Mary Pistocchi. He attended New York University and Columbia Dental School and went on to open an independent practice in Rochester NY which operated from 1959 - 1996. He provided dental consulting services to Eastman Kodak approving work that was initially denied by insurance companies.

 Al married Sandy on August 22, 1959, recently celebrating 67 years of marriage. Together they raised three daughters, traveled extensively and loved spending time with friends and family. 

Al will be remembered for his sense of humor and quickness to tease mercilessly if he liked you. He always had a book to read and loved playing pool with his friends at Pennybyrn. He played tennis frequently and was a certified SCUBA diver in his younger days, and became an avid golfer when his children were grown. Al was a hard core Buffalo Bills fan despite how hard it was to cheer them on through the years. He was the primary caregiver and support for Sandy as she fought progressive Multiple Sclerosis for over 40 years. He was her rock and strength, doing everything possible to provide any available treatment or chance to work towards remission. He bravely fought his own battle with cancer for the past year, and derived great comfort from his faith and relationship with God. 

Al is survived by his loving wife Sandy, his 3 daughters and their spouses, Carolyn and Chris Clemans, Suzie and Mark Dajani, MaryBeth and Tim Martin, grandchildren Casey (Jeremy) , Ben (Erin), Carrie, Emma and Tyler and one great grandson, Arlo who was the apple of his eye (sorry Emma). He was affectionately named Bubba by his oldest grandchild, a name he loved and became his. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. 

A memorial service will be held on September 17 at 11:45AM at Maryfield Chapel at Pennybyrn followed by a reception on site.

In lieu of flowers, masses may be offered in his memory or the family asks that donations be made to the Resident Care Fund at Pennybyrn or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to acknowledge the outstanding care Al received from every staff member he encountered at the Wesley Long Cancer Center as well as the entire Pennybyrn community. 

Bubba will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
