Travis Lee Mathis

Travis Lee Mathis, 43, of Thomasville, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center from a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.

Born November 17, 1977, in High Point, he was the son of Charles David Mathis and Belinda Pyrtle Mathis both of High Point. Travis loved fishing and like his Papaw Sam, loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was employed as a truck driver with Trexler Trucking, and he loved his job.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Hailee Nicole Mathis of High Point; sister, Nicole Hughes and husband Anthony of Thomasville; nieces, Bella, Thea, and Ada; nephew, Otto, and beloved canine companion, Xander.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, May 7, 2021, at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 2364 Ether Rd., Star, NC with Rev. Jon Eric Woodward officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brenner’s Children’s Hospital, Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27157 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Community Bible Church Benevolence Fund, 4106 Johnson St., High Point, NC 27265.

The family wishes to thank Rick Sellards and the guys for their concern and prayers.
